| Working With Others |
| A great gig tonight at the Marriot, Docklands. The gig itself was good, but what made it really enjoyable was the chance to work with two other magicians. We had a great night together. Booking enough magicians is really important, as it means that all of the guests at an event will be able to watch some magic, without being hurried. It also means that as magicians we can create some magic to do between ourselves for the benefit of the guests. For example, I did a trick where I apparently got the name of a card wrong - I called over to the magician on the next table and he called the correct name out! I then did the same for him - it was great fun for the two tables involved and gave them a great excuse to get to know each other! |

| Annabel Croft |
| What a gorgeous night - I performed at the home of Mel Coleman and Annabel Croft for their Christmas party, lots of celebrities but my favourite was Anneka Rice! What a delightful person to perform to, really enthusiastic. She insisted that all of her friends gather round to watch what I was doing! |

| To an ad agency in Holborn this evening for an earlyish corporate party. I enjoy performing for creative types as they enjoy the performance as much as the magic in itself! Also, performing earlier means that MOST people are still fairly sober and I can perform some magic that needs some attention from the audience. They were great fun, and very appreciative! |

| Out of London |
| I had a really lovely private engagement last night, near to Princes Risborough. It's great to get the chance to leave London occasionally! I was performing at a small party (about 40 people) on top of 'Kop Hill' in Bucks. When I was looking up the directions, I found a site that told me that if I were to walk seven times round the hill, I would meet a Roman solider on horseback, carrying a sack of gold! I stayed at the party and performed my own magic instead! |

| Teaching |
| I spent some time today tutoring another magician (he performs a bit and wants to become professional). It's a challenge that I really enjoy - how to help someone become better at magic, without making them perform in my style. We had a really fascinating afternoon. I was helping him to spot some technical weaknesses in his sleight-of-hand, but mainly working with him to learn how to keep 'performance energy' up ALL of the time. It's almost as if when you perform, you are on fire from within and that generates an energy that spectators are really drawn to. |
